vegan chocolate cocoa cravings

Rarely have I been so excited to share a product on my blog, but we’re so proud to be the exclusive distributor of Cocoa Cravings’ line of vegan and pure milk chocolates. Just like wine and cheese, we think that kava and chocolate are one of the most heavenly combinations on Earth!  (For a quick peek, look to our Vegan Chocolate page, or if you want to see the entire line of products, look directly on the Chocolate Catalog.)

Most wouldn’t classify chocolate as healthy, but our chocolate has organic and nutritious ingredients as well as the free radical-fighting properties in chocolate that may help circulation.*  All that while also tasting surprisingly delicious. For the chocolate lover in all of us, Cocoa Cravings gives you nothing artificial, nothing over-processed, the purest and highest-quality ingredients, prepared exactly the way they should be with care, style and dedication.

Sound a little like the philosophy of our family-run farm? The folks at Cocoa Cravings are as passionate about quality as we are, and care deeply about making a great product that creates return customers. And return customers are something we’re always so proud to say are what continue to make Kona Kava Farm the #1 Kava retailer, year after year. We hope to add to this success by now offering vegan chocolates, sugar-free chocolates, as well as rich, creamy chocolates to please any palette alongside our proudly offered line of Kava Kava products.

What we’re most proud of are the Vegan Chocolate Bars pictured above. I can’t tell you not only how quickly these have sold since their introduction, but how many customers return, thanking us for a vegan chocolate product that is actually delicious. Add the fact that it’s a healthy treat that supports wellness in a number of ways is a bonus.*  It actually just takes a quick look around the internet, with the search terms “chocolate health benefits” and you will find a plethora of interesting articles on the subject.

Being a woman, I found the article in Women’s Health called “The Sweet Side of Chocolate” to be extremely interesting. They start off by stating:

“Superfoods don’t just come from your supermarket’s produce aisle. In fact those chocolate candy bars next to the gummy bears now qualify. Study after study proves that dark chocolate, “sweet, rich, and delicious” is good for more than curing a broken heart.

The secret behind its powerful punch is cacao, also the source of the sweet’s distinct taste. Packed with healthy chemicals like flavonoids and theobromine, this little bean is a disease-killing bullet. The only problem? Cacao on its own is bitter, chalky, nasty stuff.”

And that’s where we come to the rescue! It takes just one taste of any of our vegan chocolate products to be converted or your money back, no questions asked.  Let’s just read one of the tempting descriptions for one of the vegan chocolate bars:

“Only Pure Ingredients” Cocoa Cravings chocolate bars, made from the fabled “Criollo Arriba beans” using a recipe based on a simple combination of cacao beans, cane sugar and pure vanilla. Grown solely in Ecuador, “Arriba” is a special cocoa varietal with a perfumed floral scent. Its flavor is smooth, with a dominant floral note and nutty aftertones.

In order to present you with the purest flavor of Arriba chocolate, there is no other “covering” aroma or extra flavors added to these bars. This allows you to experience the uniquely rich Arriba aromas in these tasting bars from 55% to 71% cocoa. The uniqueness, depth and flavor also result from the use of non-deodorized cacao butter in our production.

A small nibble into any one of the bars initiates your experience with a hint of sweet caramel, followed with the caress of rich cacao and ends with a light vanilla boquet… just the flavors that rich dark cocoa beans, carefully roasted and ground, should provide.

We do not use additives, preservatives, synthetic emulisifiers or artificial flavorings. Our bars are gluten free. And we definitely do not use ingredients found in some chocolates such as transfats, corn syrup, glucose, milk substitutes, or vanillin.”

It doesn’t get better than that, does it? Well, that’s enough about chocolate for now!  After writing this post, I have only one thing in mind, and I am off to satisfy that craving right now.  Hmm…which shall it be? A vegan chocolate bar? A dose of Kava Kava followed by some drinking chocolate for an uplifting and pleasant endorphin-rich experience?*

Perhaps next post, I’ll let you know…
