Every day we hear of
people driven mad by tension, of rancorous disputes
among the anxious and stressed. Every day we are
reminded of the wrung-out, fractious nature of the
world. And yet all social circumstances arise from the
condition of the mind. If people are thoughtful and
peaceful, they beget a thoughtful and peaceful society.
If people are tense, anxious, and angry, they produce a
society that reflects their distracted, fearful, and
alienated mental state. This is the nature of human
life.
Kava is not a panacea for the world's problems, but it
does hold enormous value for those who wish to maintain
serenity and equanimity. We in the West have not yet
begun to tap the great and profound benefits of kava.
For with this tranquil elixir, the world settles into
place, tensions ease away, and the fundamental wholeness
of all things is experienced.
And this, dear friends, is a good and precious thing.
